Learning to create mixed media paintings. Which was carried by the author as an Assistant student Teaching from the Fine Arts Education Study Program, State University of Malang. This learning is carried out by class IX students, which will be held from February to March 2023. The aim is to fulfill the teaching assistant duties and to teach young people to love and care more about the environment around them. This activity is located at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 1 Malang City which is located on Jl. Bandung No. 7 Malang.

Prior to the implementation of the activity, the authors form groups, namely one work done by two people. After group selection, the writer conveys what tools and materials will be used later. the author frees students to choose the media they will use. And one of them is hair media. Because Class IX took part in many other school activities and exams, the work on this mixed media work was carried out for approximately 3 months. After the work on the work has been completed, class IX students who take part in fine arts are required to upload their work via Instagram

In this learning activity, the author frees class IX students to choose for themselves what theme to make and what media they will use. However, the author also requires students to use hair media as one of them, and other media as supports. The reason the writer chose human hair is because human hair is also one of the wastes that is difficult to decompose and is also anti-mainstream. So, it’s rare for an artist to use hair as a work. Therefore, by creating mixed media art in addition to adding to the aesthetic experience of students, this can also recycle waste that is difficult to decompose into beautiful works of art.
