Making of SMPN 1 Singosari Mascot. “The mascot of SMPN 1 SINGOSARI is named SHISHA.”

A mascot is a shape or object that can take the form of a person, animal,l or object that is considered to bring good luck and to enliven the atmosphere of the event being held. Mascots generally represent the broader community, from schools, universities, sports clubs, or the development of a commercial product. Each Mascot created will be given a nickname that matches the character of the Mascot itself. Class/school art exhibitions are an activity to show the public artworks produced by students while studying at school, both inside and outside the school environment. Through exhibitions, students can introduce their works to the public in the school environment or to the general public to be seen, assessed, admired, or criticized. 

Through the Mascot, it is easier for the general public to get to know SMPN 1 Singosari because the Mascot has unique characteristics related to SMPN 1 Singosari. So that SMPN 1 Singosari can benefit from having a mascot such as:

  1. Recognisability → Making your school superior to competitors, because humans are visual creatures.
  2. Personality and emotion → A logo alone may not trigger feelings of curious prospective students, but school personality can be conveyed through the character of the school mascot.
  3. Memorability → If the Mascot is aligned with the branding, it can make it easier for others to remember the school! So even in the future, when the school changes the color palette or packaging, the school’s Mascot will remain in the customer’s memory.
  4. Brand flexibility → Friendly Mascot suitable for various promotional applications! Like campaign materials to introductory videos that can attract many curious, interested people.

Making the Mascot starts by looking for meaning, history, and things related to SMP 1 Singosari. Then sketch the Mascot. The sketch is made by looking at the logo of SMPN 1 Singosari:

COLOR MEANING

1. Black Color: Symbolizes the meaning of life that is solid, hard, manly, and mysterious, but there are also nuances of death contained in the meaning of the color Black.

2. Yellow: This represents the excellent nature of joy and relaxation and has sky-high aspirations. In addition, there is the impression of spontaneous and high tolerance. Quickly stands out but fluctuates in attitude, hopeful and generous.

3. Blue: Gives the meaning of perfect serenity. That impression can calm the pulse, blood pressure, and breathing and help improve health.

4. Red: This color symbolizes a draining psychological state, speeds up the pulse, raises blood pressure, and speeds up breathing. This color affects productivity, struggle, competition

5. White Color: Many say this color is purity, but the Star, in this sense, it is more appropriate to show clean, tidy, and orderly.

MEANING OF THE LOGO

∙ SMPN 1: The existence of our school

∙ 2 WINGS: To Fly Toward the Stars

∙ STAR: The intended target

∙ TEMPLE: Culture, a former great empire

∙ SINGOSARI : Domicile / place

∙ LOTUS: Lotus represents Bodhi (Sanskrit for enlightenment), Pure represents body, mind, and spirit, along with spiritual perfection

And the peace of one’s nature.

∙ CAKRA WEAPONS: This weapon is mighty. No one can face it chakras, except for incarnations of Vishnu.

The photo above is the sketch of the first draft of the logo. Then it was discussed with the teachers of SMPN 1 Singosari, and after our approval, it digitized the manual sketch.

In the process of digitizing, they are done coloring in the process of coloring. The colors used are taken from the SMPN 1 logo Singosari.

This was followed by making the clothes used by the Mascot, which were taken from the batik uniforms used by the students of SMPN 1 Singosari. It started with making batik motifs.


The benefits of making this Mascot are as follows:

1. Recognisability → Making your school superior to competitors, because

many people.



The meaning of this Mascot is as follows:

1. The name of this Mascot, “Shisha,” is taken from the nickname and location of SMPN 1 Singosari, namely Sinesa

Singhasari

2. The lion-shaped Mascot depicts the location of the SMP, which is in Singosari because of the naming

Singosari area taken from Sanskrit “Singhasare” or “Singha,” which means lion “sare.”

which means sleep, so it means a sleeping lion.

3. The red wing ornament symbolizes:

Red: This color symbolizes a draining psychological state,

speeding up the pulse, raising blood pressure, and speeding up breathing.

5. The blue chakra ornament symbolizes:

CAKRA WEAPONS: This weapon is mighty. No one is strong

facing the chakras, except for the incarnations of Vishnu

Blue: Gives the meaning of perfect calm. Having that impression

can calm the pulse, blood pressure, and breathing and help improve health.

6. The batik motifs and colors of the clothes symbolize the batik clothes that the students wear as students of SMPN 1 SINGOSARI.


Through this Mascot, SMPN 1 Singosari can become a + value in the hearts of the candidates and students who want to enter SMPN, and; the SMPN 1 Singosari mascot can make promotional videos or introductions to the school environment because the current era is a digital era, so there are many ways to promote schools through exciting videos.
