Universitas Negeri Malang Debate Competition (UMDC) is a prestigious debate competition organized by the English Department Student Association of State University of Malang on November 10. This activity is a forum for students to hone their critical thinking skills, public speaking skills, and ability to work together through academic debates conducted in English. With the theme “Strengthening Partnerships for Sustainable Development Through Debate”, UMDC encouraged participants to discuss relevant global issues, especially those related to the importance of partnerships in facing the challenges of the modern world.

This activity is in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 17, Partnerships for the Goals, which emphasizes the importance of collaboration between individuals, communities, and institutions in creating sustainable solutions to global challenges. UMDC aims to introduce students to the values of cooperation, inclusive dialog, and building strong networks among the younger generation to support sustainable development goals.
