According to WHO (World Health Organization), violance is the intentional use of coercion or physical force, threats or acts, which either result in or have a high tendency to result in injury, death, psychological injury, developmental disability or harm. In this definition, it appears that there are two types of violence, namely physical and psychological violence. The French philosopher, Pierre Felix Bourdieu added that there is another type of violence, namely symbolic violence. According to Bourdieu, symbolic violence is the imposition of a system of symbolism and meaning (eg culture) on a group or class in a certain way which is then considered legitimate. Symbolic violence is disguised because symbolic violence is opposed to real violence, as invisible, gentle, unknown violence, operating through duty, loyalty, friendliness, gifts, indebtedness, piety, in other words, through all virtues that are respected by the ethics of honor. (Mourcable, 2009).
The easily way to recognize symbolic violence is to watch Korean dramas (drakor). This method emerged from the idea of Dewi Pusposari, S. Pd, M. Pd (a lecturer at the Department of Indonesian Literature, State University of Malang) and Dr. Karkono, S.S., M.A; Mr. Moh. Safii, S. Kom., M. Hum; Mr. Prof. Wahyudi S., M. Pd; and two students, namely Prayoga Adi Purna and Nadhira Dwi Kartika to introduce symbolic violence to the public. Drakor is considered suitable for introducing symbolic violence because it is in great demand by the Indonesian people.
