Universitas Negeri Malang-Edu Top (Learning Mentorship) Batch 4, held on September 17, 2024, at Building A20, 9th Floor, Universitas Negeri Malang, brought together students from the Department of Art and Design to focus on the Sustainable Development Goals that aim to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. The workshop was also designed to explore how art and design can leverage and promote responsible resource use and ethical production practices.
The main objective of the workshop is to equip students with the knowledge and creative strategies needed to address the global challenge of unsustainable consumption. Participants will be encouraged to develop art and design projects that advocate for waste reduction, recycling, and the use of sustainable materials. The event will inspire students to think critically about how their creative work can influence consumer behavior and contribute to building a more sustainable future.
Through guided mentoring sessions, students will collaborate to create solutions that raise awareness of the environmental and social impacts of overconsumption and unsustainable production. The workshop will highlight the role of design in shaping sustainable lifestyles and behaviors, empowering students to incorporate these values into their personal and professional practices. By the end of the workshop, students will have gained a deeper understanding of how they apply to their field. They will be better prepared to integrate sustainability into their creative practice, becoming advocates for responsible consumption and production in the art and design industry.
