The Universitas Negeri Malang-Edu Top Workshop (Learning Mentoring) Batch 4 which was held on September 17, 2024 at Building A20, 9th Floor, Universitas Negeri Malang, involved students from various study programs in the Department of Art and Design, namely Dance and Music Education, Visual Communication Design, and Fine Arts Education. This workshop focuses on efforts to increase climate awareness aimed at taking immediate action to combat climate change and its impacts.

The main objective of this activity is to provide students with a deeper understanding of global climate issues and how art and design can be effective media and can convey climate change messages. Workshop participants will be invited to develop creative projects that can raise public awareness about the importance of climate action, such as reducing carbon emissions, preserving the environment, and using renewable energy.

Through interactive mentoring sessions, students from various study programs will collaborate and share perspectives to create innovative solutions related to climate change. Dance, music, visual design, and fine art are expected to influence people’s behavior towards the environment and encourage real steps in mitigating climate change. At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to not only have a deeper understanding but also the ability to integrate environmental sustainability issues in their art and design works, so that they can become agents of change in the global effort to combat climate change.
