The University Edu Top Workshop (Learning Mentorship) Batch 4, held on September 17, 2024, at State University of Malang, focused on empowering students from the Department of Art and Design to engage with the Sustainable Development Goals that center on reducing inequality within and between countries. The workshop was designed to foster creativity in addressing social, economic, and cultural inequalities through innovative approaches in art and design.
The main goal of the workshop is to raise awareness among students about global inequality issues and inspire them to use their creative talents to promote inclusivity and equal opportunities. Through interactive mentoring sessions, participants will explore how their art and design projects can highlight and address disparities related to income, gender, ethnicity, disability, and other forms of inequality. Students will be guided in developing works that challenge social norms and advocate for equity, access, and equal representation.
This workshop will encourage participants to think critically about how art and design can serve as powerful tools to foster dialogue and drive social change, ensuring that no one is left behind. By the end of the workshop, students will have a clearer understanding of how their creative efforts can contribute to reducing inequalities across sectors. They will also gain practical skills in integrating principles of equality and social justice into their future projects, positioning themselves as advocates for a more inclusive and just world.
