The Universitas Negeri Malang-Edu Top (Learning Mentorship) Workshop Batch 4, held on September 17, 2024, at Universitas Negeri Malang, brought together students from the Department of Art and Design to explore the role of creative practices in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. The event focused on providing participants with the knowledge and tools to integrate sustainability into their future professional endeavors. The main objective of the workshop is to inspire students to become active contributors to sustainable development through their art and design projects.
By understanding the interconnectedness of environmental, social, and economic issues, participants will be encouraged to create works that raise awareness and provide solutions to global challenges such as climate change, poverty, inequality, and responsible consumption. Through guided mentorship sessions, students will explore how their creative practices are.
They will be challenged to think critically about how their designs can contribute to a more sustainable future, emphasizing the importance of responsible production, energy efficiency, and social justice. In addition, the workshop aims to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration, empowering students to work together to develop innovative ideas that address sustainability challenges. At the end of the workshop, participants will gain practical skills and insights on how their creativity can contribute to positive change, making them advocates for sustainability in both their personal and professional lives.
