SDG 4

The Um-Edu Top (Learning Mentorship) workshop Batch 4, held on September 17, 2024, at State University of Malang, focuses on efforts to promote gender equality through the lens of art and design. With the participation of students from the Department of Art and Design, this workshop is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals that seek to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

The main objective of this workshop is to equip students with the knowledge and creative skills and address gender inequality through their art and design practices. The event aims to inspire participants to create works that challenge gender stereotypes, promote inclusivity, and advocate for equal rights for all individuals regardless of gender. Through interactive mentoring sessions, students will be guided in developing projects that raise awareness about gender-based issues such as discrimination, violence, and access to education and health services.

In addition, the workshop encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, allowing students to explore how their creative work can influence societal attitudes towards gender equality. By the end of the workshop, participants will have gained a deeper understanding of how art and design can serve as powerful tools for social change, empowering them to become advocates in their future careers. The workshop also aims to create a ripple effect, inspiring others in education and the creative industries to become actively involved in promoting gender equality.
