HAMAMAH VIRTUAL, Arabic Language Ability Improvement Training Event for Madrasah Students

Malang. The Student Association of Arabic Literature Department (HMJ) Faculty of Letters (FS) State University of Malang (UM) successfully held HAMAMAH (Khidmah Ijtima’iyyah Lil Ummah) virtually due to the ongoing pandemic conditions. HAMAMAH is an annual program of HMJ Arabic Literature FS UM as a form of student service to the community. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, this activity was carried out in certain areas in need. Students go directly to the field to help people in need.
This activity has been carried out on Saturday, July 3, 2021, starting at 08.00-15.00 WIB. This activity is intended for junior high school (SMP) and high school (SMA) students in the Greater Malang area (Malang City, Malang Regency, and Batu City). The theme of this activity is: “Calligraphy Training, Arabic Debate, and Arabic Sermons for Students throughout Malang Raya as a Form of Khidmah Ijtima’iyyah Lil Ummah (HAMAMAH)”.
HAMAMAH 2021 consists of three trainings, namely: Arabic debate training, Arabic calligraphy and arabiyyah sermons. The presenters in the three fields are students of the Department of Arabic Literature (JSA) FS UM and also alumni who have won various competitions at the national level. There are 7 presenters in HAMAMAH, namely: Fakhrur Rozi, S. Pd, Arya Wahyu Pratama, and Iqbal Fathi Izzuddin, as speakers on the debate. Muhammad Zahid Afifarrasyihab and Muhammad Zahid Afafarrasyihab, as calligraphy speakers. Shovi Maryam, M.Pd. Muhammad Ahsan Thoriq and Moh. Rozy Zamroni, as speaker of Khatabah Arabiyah.

Some of the material presented by the presenters is recorded in the following themes. In the Arabic Debate training, the material presented by Fahrur Rozi, S.Pd was Understanding the Concept of Debate from Various Perspectives, Arya Wahyu’s material with the theme Knowing Various Competitions and Arabic Debate Communities, and the material presented by Iqbal Fathi is the Key to Success in Becoming a Debate. Reliable Arabic. In Arabic Calligraphy training, Muhammad Zahid Afifarrasyihab delivered material related to Understanding the Types of Calligraphy and Calligraphy Competitions in Indonesia, while Muhammad Zahid Afafarrasyihab delivered material with the title Getting to Know the Development of Contemporary Calligraphy from Time to Time. In the Arabiyyah Sermon training, Shovi Maryam, M.Pd delivered material with the theme of Practicing Public Speaking Skills Through Khatabah Arabiyyah, the material presented by Muhammad Ahsan Thoriq entitled Some Tricks to Be Able to Do Arabiyyah Sermons, and the material presented by Moh. Rozy Zamroni are Tips to Win the Khatabah Contest.

Participants in this activity consisted of junior high and high school students. The number is approximately 100 students from various existing schools). Activities carried out for 7 hours. Starting at 08.00-15.00 WIB. At 08.00-09.00 WIB, the activity begins with the opening. Followed by a presentation by the presenters at 09.00-15.00 WIB. After the activity, participants were asked to provide feedback related to the activity via a questionnaire link via GoogleForm. As a result, the participants stated that this activity was very interesting, the committee’s service was very good, and this activity was considered very useful by them. They also hope that HMJ Arab Sastra FS UM will continue to hold this kind of training in the coming year.
