ONLINE ARABIC LEARNING TRAINING (MAHARAH QIRA’AH) SUCCESSFULLY HOLD BY DEPARTMENT OF ARABIC LITERATURE FACULTY OF LITERATURE STATE UNIVERSITY OF MALANG

Department of  Arabic Literature (DAL) Faculty of Letters (FL) State University of Malang (UM) successfully held online training for alumni. This training is a continuation of the previous training program. The training carried out is an online-based training for the proficiency of the scriptures. The theme of the activity is: “Online Arabic Learning Training (Maharah Kitabah)”. There are two forms of activity, namely: synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous training assisted by Zoom Meeting will be held on Friday 29 October 2021 at 12.30-16.00 WIB. While the implementation of asynchronous activities is carried out on Saturday-Thursday, October 30-November 4, 2021 using Google Classroom. Asynchronous activities are used to practice the theory that has been received by participants and follow up on synchronous activities that have been carried out.

There were 4 presenters in the activity, namely: (1) Prof. Drs. Muhaiban, (2) Ali Ma’sum, S.Pd., M.A, (3) Moh. Fery Fauzi, M.Pd.I, and (4) Dr. Laily Maziyah, M.Pd. The four presenters are DAL FL UM Lecturers and are experts in learning Arabic for Kitabah proficiency.

The activity was attended by around 122 participants. In total, 90% of the participants were ALD FL UM graduate. While the rest are alumni of other universities in Indonesia. This activity is specifically for DAL FL UM graduate, but the committee also does not close themselves off from other PT graduate who want to participate.

The series of events in the training activities are as follows. The activity started with the opening ceremony. The contents of the opening activity were the reading of the Basmalah, singing the Indonesia Raya anthem, and remarks by the Chair of the DAL FL UM graduate Association as well as opening the training activities by Dr. Nur Hidayati, M.Pd. In his speech, he asked the participants to be enthusiastic in participating in this activity. Given this activity is very important to follow, as an effort to add to the treasures of knowledge, especially in learning Arabic for the proficiency of the book. After the opening ceremony, the activity continued with the presentation of the material by the presenters.

There were four materials presented in the training. The details are as follows. Best Practice Learning Writing at JSA was delivered by Prof. Drs. Muhaiban, (2) Writing Learning Strategy delivered by Ali Ma’sum, S.Pd., M.A, (3) Writing Learning Media delivered by Moh. Fery Fauzi, M.Pd.I, and (4) Evaluation of Writing Learning delivered by Dr. Laily Maziyah, M.Pd.

This activity is an ongoing activity. Submission of material is delivered synchronously via Zoom Meeting. To deepen participants’ understanding of the material that has been obtained, participants are asked to work on assignments and repeat them within the allotted time. These activities are carried out asynchronously using Google Classroom. It is hoped that participants will not only understand the theory, but also be able to apply the knowledge they have acquired well. To motivate participants in participating in this activity, participants who carry out synchronous and asynchronous activities will be given a certificate which is equivalent to 32 Lesson Hours.
