The International Conference on Arts, Design, Education, and Cultural Studies (ICADECS) 2024, held at Universitas Negeri Malang, will highlight the transformative power of creative education. Ari Dharminalan Rudenko, Ph.D. (Cand), will lead a session on the critical role of arts and design in promoting SDG 4: Quality Education.
Rudenko’s presentation will explore how integrating arts and design into education can enhance learning outcomes, foster critical thinking, and promote inclusive education for all. He will argue that creative subjects encourage students to think beyond traditional frameworks, helping them develop problem-solving skills, cultural awareness, and emotional intelligence—key components of a quality education.
Through case studies, Rudenko will showcase how innovative arts-based educational programs have successfully engaged students from diverse backgrounds, including marginalized communities. These programs have not only improved academic performance but also inspired students to express themselves creatively, boosting confidence and motivation.
Rudenko will also discuss the importance of access to arts education, particularly in underserved communities. By providing equal opportunities to explore the arts, educators can bridge educational gaps and ensure that all students receive a well-rounded, high-quality education.
Aligned with ICADECS 2024’s theme, “Reimagining Education through Arts and Design for Sustainable Futures,” Rudenko’s session will emphasize the role of creative education in achieving SDG 4. Participants will engage in discussions and workshops on how arts and design can be integrated into curricula to foster inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all learners.
