The second day of the “Holiday Program: Learning World Languages” was held on July 2, 2024, at English Corner, GKB A20. The main goal of today’s event was to enhance students’ English vocabulary and practical language skills through fun and interactive activities.
The day began with the distribution of ID cards to each participant. Following this, a warm-up game was conducted to improve agility and concentration while teaching basic English vocabulary and anatomy. Games like ‘Simon Says’ were used to make learning more engaging and interactive. Next, participants learned about various ingredients used in making donuts and how to decorate them. This session included naming ingredients in English, encouraging effective language use, and imparting practical skills in cooking and hygiene. Before starting the decorating activity, participants were asked to wash their hands, emphasizing the importance of hygiene.
The highlight of the day was the donut decorating activity. Each participant was given a plain donut and various toppings to create unique designs. This activity sparked creativity and provided an opportunity to use English in a real-life context. After decorating, all participants enjoyed their donuts with a cup of tea. This relaxed setting allowed for casual conversation, helping students practice English in a social environment. Following this, several participants commented on the day’s activities, sharing their thoughts and experiences in English. This reflection helped consolidate their learning and provided feedback on the program’sprogram’s effectiveness.
The day concluded with a fun Uno game, offering a chance to unwind and enjoy each other’s company. This game, which subtly reinforced number and color vocabulary in English, was a resounding success, leaving everyone feeling entertained and relaxed. Overall, the second day of the program was filled with interactive and enjoyable activities that effectively combined language learning with practical skills and entertainment.
