TERALAYA, which stands for Terarium Surabaya, is a creative initiative born by the Department of Indonesian Literature, State University of Malang students. DSI UM student Luluk Rohmatul Ulya chaired the group that developed TERALAYA. This business aims to present interior decoration products that harmonize ecological and cultural elements. This terrarium is an aesthetic element in the room and a medium for developing a love of culture and nature.
Each TERALAYA is meticulously designed using transparent glass or acrylic containers, allowing the owner to see the ecosystem diorama arranged inside clearly. Inside this terrarium, various natural media, such as soil, gravel, white sand, moss, coral, and small ornamental plants, are used. In addition, TERALAYA is embellished with miniatures that represent cultural elements, such as replicas of traditional houses, animals such as cats and rabbits, and several other miniatures that enrich the feel of the ecosystem on a small scale.
TERALAYA products sell the terrarium itself and include a product package that contains a manual, a spray bottle for plant care, and tweezers to organize the elements inside. This aims to provide a complete user experience and facilitate the maintenance of TERALAYA as a complete and functional decoration accessory.
Through TERALAYA, the students seek to introduce the beauty of Indonesian culture and natural diversity to the broader community while providing added value in the form of aesthetically pleasing products for everyday life. With this unique concept, TERALAYA is expected to be a favorite choice for those who appreciate Indonesia’s natural beauty and cultural richness.
