UMM CHINESE LANGUAGE PROGRAM STUDENT INTERNSHIP MBKM ACTIVITIES AT UMM RAYZ HOTEL

Students of the Chinese Language Education Study Program at the State University of Malang carry out work internships at Rayz UMM Hotel and are placed in the Food and Beverage Admin. Front Desk Agent sections at Rayz UMM Hotel. Rayz UMM Hotel was chosen to carry out internship activities because it considered the excellent cooperation between the company and the State University of Malang, especially the Chinese Language Education Study Program. Rayz UMM Hotel is a 4-star hotel formerly known as UMM Inn Hotel after undergoing renovation and management changes. Rayz UMM Hotel is the first educational hotel in Indonesia. The hotel is under the auspices of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, engaged in tourism, especially hospitality. Rayz UMM Hotel is located at Jl. Raya Sengkaling No.1, Jetis, Mulyoagung, Kec. Dau, Malang Regency, East Java 65151.

This internship was completed within five months, from July 11, 2022, to December 11, 2022. During the two months as a Trainee F&B Admin, the main activities that the author did were inputting DML (Daily Market List) and SR (Store Requisition) shopping lists. With this internship, students are expected to gain experience by learning directly in the workplace (experiential learning) so that they will be more stable in entering the world of work and careers, improve hard skills (skills, complex problem solving, analytical skills, etc.) and soft skills (professional/work ethics, communication, cooperation, etc.) by the field of expertise, establishing good cooperation between the university and related parties at the internship site, preparing students in facing the culture of the world of work that is different from the culture of learning in college.
