MBKM INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES OF UM MANDARIN LANGUAGE STUDY PROGRAM STUDENTS AT PT YOU WANG YOU

Students of the Chinese Language Study Program at the State University of Malang carry out work internships at PT. YOU WANG YOU, located in Saptorenggo Village 002 / 002 Kec. Pakis, Malang Regency, East Java. A soft drink manufacturer company in the form of ice sticks with the brand “Sweet Ten.” The determination of the internship location considers that PT YOU WANG YOU is one of the Chinese companies operating in Indonesia, so Chinese Language Education students who carry out internship activities at the company can observe and add knowledge related to business communication that occurs in the company. The company is a PMA (Foreign Investment) company, with the most significant shares belonging to Chinese investors and the remaining shares belonging to domestic investors. PT YOU WANG YOU has established an agent alliance system in major urban areas. All employees of PT YOU WANG YOU are Indonesian citizens. This work internship was carried out in approximately four months, from August 08, 2022, to December 15, 2022.

With this internship activity, students are expected to gain experience with experiential learning so that they will be more stable in entering the world of work and careers, improve hard skills (complex problem solving, analytical skills, etc.) and soft skills (professional / work ethics, communication, cooperation, etc.) by their field of expertise, establish good collaboration between the university and related parties at the internship site, prepare students to face the culture of the world of work which is different from the culture of learning in college.
