Empowering Communication Skills: A Collaborative Research Initiative with Universiti Putra Malaysia

In a world where communication is key, the ability to articulate thoughts and engage in meaningful dialogue is paramount. Universitas Negeri Malang, in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), has embarked on a groundbreaking research project that aims to enhance students’ interview and communication skills.

This research team is led by Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hanafi, M.Fil.I, with three researchers namely Dr. Nur Faizin, M.A, M.Philo, Abdul Basid, M.Th.I, Ph.D, Moch. Rizal Ramadhan, M.Pd, a student from our university namely Arya Wahyu Pratama, and an assistant namely Fatima Muthmainnah. This research also collaborated with foreign researcher Abd Rauf Hassan from UPM, who worked diligently to explore the impact of specialized training on students’ dialogic abilities. This initiative is not just about improving communication; it’s about empowering individuals to connect, understand, and thrive in various social contexts.

The project, in association with the Sub Directorate of Islamic Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs, falls under the topic of KBK and has a TKT and KATSINOV level of 3. It’s a testament to the commitment of both institutions to foster innovation, collaboration, and excellence in education.

This research aligns perfectly with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the goal of “Quality Education.” By enhancing communication skills, the project contributes to creating a more inclusive and equitable quality education system. It recognizes that effective communication is a foundational skill that transcends academic boundaries and plays a vital role in personal and professional development.

The collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia adds an international dimension to the project, reflecting a shared vision and commitment to educational excellence. Abd Rauf Hassan’s involvement as a foreign researcher brings unique insights and expertise that enrich the research process.

The compatibility of this program with the SDG of “Quality Education” is evident in its holistic approach.
