UM German Literature Lecturer Team Successfully Conducts Training on Digitization of German-Indonesian Intercultural Learning for German Language Teachers in East Java
In the current era of technological development, the Department of German Literature, Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang continues to develop with its success in carrying out training on digitalization of german-Indonesian intercultural learning which is attended by German language teachers in East Java.
The chief executive of the activity, Mrs. Sri Prameswari Indriwardhani, as a lecturer in German at the State University of Malang explained that german-Indonesian intercultural cultural learning training needs to be carried out so that cultural learning is more attractive to students and teachers can also further optimize their learning media skills.
She saw an inequality in the learning of foreign language cultures, particularly German. Where there is still a lack of cultural content that emphasizes the understanding between different cultures. In addition, most of the approaches taken are still based on cultural information in the form of facts and data.
“Our approach is more integrated with knowledge, values, norms, attitudes and behaviors as well as habits from two different cultures,” said Mrs. Sri Prameswari (22/11).
This training was conducted on August 6, 2021 and was attended by 9 MGMP representatives in 5 East Java Regions, namely Malang, Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Besuki Besuki under the coordination of the head of the East Java MGMP, Mr. Lufi Pratama, S.Pd as the head of the East Java Province MGMP and on September 18, 2021 in Besuki online,” he continued.
Introduction to Learning Applications is the Focus of Activities
In this training, learning video creation applications, such as PPT, Canva, Tiktok, and Quizizz can be used in digitizing intercultural cultural learning materials/ materials. These applications were chosen because they can increase students’ interest in learning. In addition, it is also easier for teachers to convey the material clearly and in detail.
From the results of the training, German language teachers succeeded in making videos of learning intercultural cultures of German – Indonesian for classes X- XII with the theme introduction, school life, family, eating and drink, and leisure time.
