The 2021 FS UM PNBP Fund Research analyzed linguistic units in discussing the message that wanted to be conveyed or communicated in the Gandrung Wayang Metri. This study aims to find the meaning of the discourse in the Metri Wayang Gandrung culture. This research is entitled “Analysis of Metri Wang Gandrung’s Oral Tradition Discourse,” compiled by Febri Taufiqurrahman, Karkono, and Moh. Safii.
The research was conducted by looking for novelty from previous studies, determining goals, and determining benefits. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using an ethnographic approach. Qualitative research uses the main textual data set and tests it using interpretive analysis. Ethnography is used because it requires the participation of researchers directly to be involved in a community environment that implements Metri Wayang Gandrung. The data source used in this research is video recordings taken directly when Metri Wayang Gandrung is being held. The results of the audio-visual recording, then a transcription of data from spoken language into written text, were carried out. The data collection and processing technique used in this study were to use audio-visual recordings. The researcher performed the recording technique directly when the Metri Wayang Gandrung ritual was carried out. This study also uses three data collection methods: participatory observation, periodic observation, and in-depth interviews.
The Research on the Analysis of the Oral Tradition of Metri Wayang Gandrung’s Discourse Analysis has been presented at the 2021 Indonesian Linguistic Society International Conference on 18-20 August 2021 in Makassar online (Journal and Proceedings of ATLANTIS PRESS in the process of publishing.
