UM Arabic Literature Lecturer Introduces Indonesian Creative Women at the International Conference on Arabic Literature in London

In commemoration of World Women’s Day, international institutions in London, The International Organization of Creativity for Peace (IOCP), held a conference for three days, 3-5 March 2021. The conference is in collaboration with the Department of Arabic Literature, the faculty of letters, the State University of Malang, and several leading universities in Egypt, India, and Baghdad. This conference was attended by figures from various countries with the theme “Creative Women and Their Achievements .”The meeting was held virtually through the Zoom Cloud Meetings platform. The presence of this World Women’s Day commemoration is a tribute to women in their achievements in the social, economic, cultural, and political fields, as well as a tangible manifestation of the sustainable development goals (S.D.G.s). ) on Gender Equality.

Dr. Hanik Mahliatussikah from the Department of Arabic Literature, Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang, had the opportunity to introduce one of the Indonesian women, Linda Christianity, winner of several awards in the field of writing and journalism. Among her achievements are 1) the Prose Award 2013 Pusat Bahasa-Ministry of National Education for the book A Dead Dog in Bala Murghab, 2) the 2013 S.E.A. Write Award/2013 Southeast Asian Writers Award (from the Kingdom of Thailand), 3) Bangka-Belitung Literary Award, 2014, 4) Kartini Award 2014, and 5) Linda Christanty’s latest work entitled “Are There Tears for Innocent People (non-fiction book) Mojok Book, 2021. Linda’s achievements of being named innovative Woman in 2021 deserve to be transmitted and told as an example for other women. After listening to Dr . Hanik’s presentation, World Literati Dr. Wafak, who became the chief executive of this activity, immediately gave an award to Linda Christianity. She was also present at this scientific forum. He also expressed his gratitude to Dr. Hanik for introducing himself to the Arab world scene and succeeding in obtaining the Award in this forum. This activity is closely related to the S.D.G.s in the field of literature and culture.
