The 2024 Indonesian Traditional Music Conservation and Innovation Workshop (Lokovasia) is an important initiative organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in collaboration with the Musike SJ Foundation. This activity aims to preserve and develop Indonesian traditional music, as well as inspire innovation in sustainable musical arts. The peak event of the 2024 Indonesian Traditional Music Conservation and Innovation Workshop (Lokovasia) was held at UBTV on September 6-7, 2024.
Participants of this event came from various regions in Indonesia, including East Java, West Java, Central Java, NTT, and Bali, creating an atmosphere rich in cultural diversity. Students of Fine Arts Education, State University of Malang are encouraged to attend this event, not only to increase their knowledge in the field of music, but also to contribute to enlivening the event.
Student involvement is expected to strengthen appreciation for traditional music and provide space for discussion and collaboration. The main goal of Lokovasia is to raise awareness of the importance of preserving traditional music, encourage innovation, and build networks between participants. By involving the younger generation, this activity aims to increase a sense of love and deeper understanding of Indonesia’s rich culture, as well as create synergy between tradition and modernity.
