On September 7, 2024, the Munsing community from Banyuwangi, East Java, performed stunningly at the Lokovasia event held live in the UBTV room. The event was attended by Visual Communication Design (DKV) students from the State University of Malang (UM) and became a platform to showcase various Indonesian cultural talents. The Munsing community, which is famous for its local art and culture, presented a performance that combined traditional Banyuwangi music and dance. With their distinctive costumes and energetic movements, they managed to enliven the atmosphere of the event and amaze the audience.
This performance not only showcases the beauty of art, but also tells the story of Banyuwangi’s rich culture. Through songs and dances, Munsing invites the audience to feel the nuances of their regional culture, introducing various traditional elements that are characteristic of Banyuwangi. Visual Communication Design students were very enthusiastic about watching Munsing’s performance, many of them were inspired by the dedication and creativity of this community. The warm interaction between community members and the audience created a friendly atmosphere, where students felt involved in a unique cultural experience.
The Lokovasia event is not only an entertainment event, but also a means to support and promote local talents. The performance of the Munsing community is a real example of how art can bridge various cultures and strengthen national identity. With the success of this performance, it is hoped that the Munsing community can continue to work and inspire more people, as well as introduce the richness of Banyuwangi culture at the national level. This event is an important step in preserving and celebrating traditional Indonesian art through a wider platform.
