3D Modeling Workshop: 3D Assets for Animated Movies and Games

Types of 3D visuals are becoming increasingly practical for the game industry and animated films. It also adapts to the needs of the times by providing asset design competence. Still, it also has to be efficient in using segments and precisely in managing the arrangements that will not be moved later. One of them is the difficulty factor of students in drawing solid (solid drawing). This is one of the basic principles of animation that makes it more transparent and exciting. The D3 Game Animation Study Program focuses on developing students to become animators or asset designers for Game and Animation needs. The educational curriculum in this study program also adapts to the needs of the times by providing asset design competencies and 3-dimensional animation. However, there are many challenges in the learning process. One of them is the difficulty factor of students in making 3-dimensional models suitable for animation needs. The animation model is not only formed according to the concept but also must be efficient in using segments and precisely arranging elements so that later moving objects will avoid problems when animated. Therefore, the D3 Game Animation Study Program will invite animation or game industry experts to train students to understand the correct 3-dimensional modeling process.

From the background above, the Department of Art and Design Faculty of Literature, D3 Animation Program responded to this by holding a 3D MODELLING WORKSHOP: 3D ASSETS FOR ANIMATION FILM AND GAME workshops to equip students of the Department of Art and Design to be ready when they enter the industry.

This activity is in the form of a workshop which will be presented in a hybrid manner on November 18, 2021. Some participants participated in activities offline and directly with the presenters. In contrast, the other participants followed online from their respective homes.
