From July 1-4, 2024, the Visual Communication Design (DKV) Program at Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) initiated a collaboration with Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Denpasar and Studio Brownbag. This partnership aims to support the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and develop pioneering Teaching Industry projects at DKV UM.
The collaboration between DKV UM, ISI Denpasar, and Studio Brownbag is expected to have a positive impact on enhancing the quality of education and learning at DKV UM. Through the exchange of knowledge and best practices, students will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts and leading academics. This will enrich their learning experience and provide in-depth insights into the creative industry.
Additionally, this partnership supports the development of Teaching Industry, offering students the chance to engage in real-world projects. This practical experience not only enhances their technical skills but also prepares them for the challenges of the job market. These projects will also foster innovation and produce outcomes that can make a tangible contribution to society and the economy.
The exploration of this collaboration also strengthens the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which includes education, research, and community service. Through this partnership, it is hoped that innovative research applicable to the creative industry will be created, as well as community service programs that have a positive impact.
The partnership also opens significant opportunities for building a strong professional network for both students and faculty. Access to training, workshops, and seminars from collaboration partners will enhance their competencies and competitiveness in the global market.
By focusing on this collaboration, DKV UM reaffirms its commitment to building robust and productive partnerships. Through synergy between academia and industry, DKV UM aims to promote quality education, encourage innovation, and support the sustainable development of the creative industry. This initiative not only enhances the quality of education at DKV UM but also makes a significant contribution to the development of the creative industry in Indonesia.
