The arts and culture sector has great potential to support economic growth and create new job opportunities. Therefore, improving the quality of arts education is very important. The exploration of cooperation in training for Arts and Culture teachers in Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, which was carried out by the Department of Art and Design, State University of Malang on May 15, 2024, aims to develop teacher competency. This training is designed to introduce innovative and creative learning methods in teaching arts and culture.

By improving the skills and knowledge of teachers, they can provide better quality education to students. Good education in the field of arts and culture will open up opportunities for students to explore their creative potential, which can ultimately produce graduates who are ready to work in the creative sector. The creative sector, including arts and culture, plays an important role in the global economy. This industry not only creates jobs but also drives innovation and sustainable economic growth. Through this training, arts and culture teachers can inspire students to pursue careers in the arts and culture fields, creating a new generation that is able to contribute to the creative economy.

In addition, the collaboration between State University of Malang and educational institutions in Penajam Paser also opens up opportunities to develop educational programs that are relevant to the needs of the job market. This will help reduce the gap between the skills taught in schools and those needed in the workplace. Thus, this training activity not only improves the quality of arts and culture education, but also supports inclusive and sustainable economic growth. Investment in arts education is an investment in the future of a strong and dynamic creative economy, which is able to create decent jobs and support economic growth in Penajam Paser and its surroundings.
