Garuda Nusa Youth Action #2 is a volunteering program or community service program sponsored by Garuda Nusa foundation. Noviachri Imroatul Sa’diyah, an English Language Education, was selected as a fully funded delegate and the education division leader. There are five fully funded delegates and 18 other delegates (partial and self-funded) divided into a few divisions (education, media, economics and tourism, and public health). This program held in Sasak Ende, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat in September 2021. The delegates stay in the local community’s house for about a week in this program.
The education division implemented several impactful projects: 1) Dream Tree. This project invites children in Sasak Ende to draw what they want to be in the future. 2) Digital Literacy. As children who frequently use smartphones, we also give them an understanding of the dos and donts on social media. They have to understand that social media should only share good things. 3) Language Literacy. This project taught children to understand the phrase “Utamakan Bahasa Indonesia, Kuasai Bahasa Asing, Lestarikan Bahasa Daerah”. 4) Indonesian Traditional Games. It enhances their knowledge, cooperation skill, tolerance, and agility. Other division also carried out their project, such as profile videos, workshops, etc.
Garuda Nusa Youth Action #2 contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities. This program aims to improve the social and creative skills of the local community at Sasak Ende in order to increase the number of youth and adults with relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, a decent job, and entrepreneurship through its projects from each division.
