On May 16, 2024, the AVA room of the Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang, witnessed a stunning theatrical performance in the 2023/2024 even semester closing Navastra event. This evocative performance was entitled “Prasetya Ekalaya” and was performed by UM Faculty of Letters lecturers. 

“Prasetya Ekalaya” presents a story that evokes the audience’s thoughts and emotions through the lecturers’ dedicated performance as the main actors. The script is an adaptation of Nanang HP’s script. With a deep background and meticulous, creative touch, the show is not just entertainment but also an enthralling artistic experience.

Under the direction of experienced director Dr. Karkono S.S., M.A., every scene in “Prasetya Ekalaya” was meticulously prepared to create a profound and mesmerizing atmosphere. The lecturers performed vital roles, bringing the characters to life with exceptional skills. They portrayed values such as sacrifice, honesty, and determination through inspiring performances.

This performance was part of the academic celebration of the even semester and a platform to appreciate and promote theater arts in the educational environment. In an AVA room filled with an enthusiastic audience, the atmosphere was full of creative energy and enthusiasm to celebrate the successes and artistic talents of the Faculty of Letters lecturers.

Thus, “Prasetya Ekalaya” enriched the academic culture and became a critical moment to soak in the beauty of the performing arts and inspire generations of students and the general public in attendance. This performance confirms the commitment of the State University of Malang to supporting the development of arts and culture in its environment, as well as giving deep appreciation to theater artists among the teaching staff.
