Malang State University Arabic Language Lecturer Presents ASWAJA Study for NU Joyo Tamansari Muslimat, Malang City

January 9 2024 – In an effort to deepen religious understanding and maintain diversity and tolerance in the Merjosari village environment, Dr. Mohammad Ahsanuddin, Arabic Language Lecturer at the State University of Malang (UM) has conducted a study with the theme “Ahlussunnah Wal Jamaah (ASWAJA): Foundations of Diversity in Islam”. This study was presented as part of efforts to develop religious understanding and increase Islamic insight among NU Muslim women.

The activity, which was held on Tuesday, January 9 2024, was held at the Hidayatullah Mushollah, Merjosari Village, Malang City. The study was preceded by the reading of Ratibul Haddad then continued with the study of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah (aswaja). The aim of this activity is to provide a deeper understanding of the teachings of Ahlussunnah Wal Jamaah, which is one of the main schools of Islam adhered to by many Muslims. He also emphasized the importance of correct understanding of Islamic teachings as a basis for building diversity and peace in society.

This ASWAJA study examines various aspects, starting from the history of development, understanding the teachings, to their relevance in the context of everyday life. The material presented is designed to be easily understood by all participants, regardless of their religious background.

The study event was attended by NU Ranting Joyo Tamansari Muslim women who have an interest in developing religious understanding. Active discussions were also strengthened by question and answer sessions which allowed participants to share views and obtain clarification regarding the material presented.

Chairman of NU Muslimat Joyo Tamansari, Zunarifta, in his speech expressed his appreciation to Ust Ahsan for participating in this activity. He hopes that this study can be a contributive step in strengthening the values of diversity, tolerance and mutual respect among the NU congregation.

Through activities like this, the NU Muslimat management seeks to bridge understanding between religious communities and provide space for mutual respect for differences. It is hoped that this ASWAJA study will be an inspiration for similar activities in the future to continue to enrich and deepen religious understanding among Muslim women and especially NU congregations.
