To Reduce Lecture Fatigue, The Department of German Held a German Film Screening for Students

The German Academic Exchange Service, commonly called DAAD, collaborates with HMD German Literature, State University of Malang, to organize “Filmabend” activities. “Filmabend” is a joint movie-watching activity targeted at students of the Department of German Language, State University of Malang, and can be attended by the public. “Filmabend” activities are organized to introduce and provide learning about the German language. The “Filmabend” activity was held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Wisma Surakarta 7.

The movie that was watched in this “Filmabend” activity was a movie from a German country that was undoubtedly in German, entitled Fack Ju Göhte,” which tells the story of Zeki Müller, an ex-con who is forced to become a substitute teacher at Goethe Comprehensive School. Zeki becomes a teacher because he is trying to find money in the place where his ex-girlfriend buried her stolen money that was to be given to him. Coincidentally, the school gym is where the money is currently being buried. The movie, which has a comedy element, invited laughter from the participants who watched it. The choice of the film aims to increase and hone the German language knowledge of the participants who take part in the “Filmabend” activity.
