MBKM INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES FOR UM MANDARIN LANGUAGE STUDY PROGRAM STUDENTS AT PT BINTANG LIMA WIJAYA

Chinese Language Study Program students at the State University of Malang conducted this internship at PT. Bintang Lima Wijaya. PT Bintang Lima Wijaya is a company located at Jalan Perusahaan No. 29, Tunjung Tirto, Karanglo, Malang. The owner of PT Bintang Lima Wijaya is a native Chinese. The company is drying tobacco, which is then sent to cigarette factories to be used as the primary raw material for making cigarettes. This internship activity is one of the Merdeka Belajar work programs. It is carried out by students for approximately four months. This activity was carried out from August 01 – December 15, 2022.

With this internship activity, students are expected to gain experience with hands-on learning in the workplace (experiential learning) so that they will be more stable in entering the world of work and careers, improve hard skills (skills, complex problem solving, analytical skills, etc.) and soft skills (professional / work ethics, communication, cooperation, etc.) by the field of expertise, establish good collaboration between the college and related parties at the internship site, prepare students to face the culture of the world of work which is different from the culture of learning in college.
