Dancing Heroes: A Collaborative Research Initiative with Universiti Utara Malaysia to Adapt Heroic Character Characteristics from the Kecak Ramayana
Introducing an innovative research venture, the University of Malang takes immense pride in unveiling a pioneering effort aimed at ingeniously infusing the heroic traits of Kecak Ramayana characters into a mesmerizing dance performance.
This research team is led by Dr. Robby Hidajat, M.Sn, with two researchers namely Dr. Pujiyanto, M.Sn., Dr. Joko Sayono, M.Pd., M.Hum., two students from our university namely Allfa Andranica Devya A. and Adinda Nur Ramadhani Haris, an alumni namely Muhammad ‘Afaf Hasyimy, and an assistant namely Sabela Adnata Putri. This ambitious undertaking, conducted in close partnership with the distinguished foreign scholar Syamsul Hirdi Bin Muhid from Universiti Utara Malaysia, holds the promise of reshaping our perception and encounter with age-old art forms.
The Kecak Ramayana, a captivating blend of dance and drama, weaves the epic saga of Ramayana through a symphony of music, movement, and visual grandeur.
