WATSUP (Watch a Movie and Speak Up Together)

The English Department Student Association of the State University of Malang (UM) organized the WATSUP (Watch a Movie and Speak Up) activity which aims to increase knowledge and improve students’ ability to appreciate film works as cultural products, improve speaking skills in English, improve students’ ability to think critically in responding and expressing opinions. This activity was held on March 17, 2023, in the Mini Theater Room in the public college building (GKB) A29.

The English Literature Department Student Association (HMD) which is called “LEGATO,” intends to hold a Workshop called “WATSUP” Watch a Movie and Speak Up Together as an effort to improve student’s academic abilities in the field of English and develop thinking creativity and public speaking skills. This WATSUP activity is an annual event that is expected to be a means to increase knowledge for 2022. Offering A students and honing their listening, speaking, and reading skills by appreciating film works and movie analysis packaged using English.

After analyzing and appreciating the film, the organizers ended the WATSUP (Watch a Movie and Speak Up Together) activity with a photo session with the participants (students) in the Mini Theatre GKB A20 room.
