Dean of Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang Collaborates with Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mulawarman University

Samarinda 22 November 2024 As a strategic step in strengthening the quality of higher education, the Dean of the Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang (UM), collaborates with the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mulawarman University (Unmul). This collaboration covers various aspects of academic development, ranging from curriculum development and collaboration in research and community service to the implementation of student activities and the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program.

Curriculum Development and Innovative Learning

The Dean of the Faculty of Letters, UM, represented by Dr. Azizatuz Zahro, M.Pd, stated, “This collaboration will strengthen the quality of education at both universities by developing a curriculum that is more relevant to the needs of the times and introducing innovative learning methods that combine the latest technology and more effective pedagogical approaches.”

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Unmul, represented by Vice Dean 3 Dr. Bibit Suhatmady, M.Pd, added, “We are also very enthusiastic about this collaboration, especially in terms of teaching collaboration, thesis, and dissertation guidance, which is expected to open up opportunities for our students to gain broader learning experiences.”

Research and Community Service

This collaboration will also focus on research, community service, and innovation. Both deans agreed that joint research will enrich academic insights at both universities and have a positive impact on society. Dr. Azizatuz Zahro, M.Pd, emphasized, “Collaboration in research will create opportunities to produce more useful scientific works that can be applied in various fields of life.”

Dr. Bibit Suhatmady, M.Pd, added, “Community service is an important part of our educational mission, and through this collaboration, we hope to contribute more to improving the welfare of the community around us.”

Student Programs and MBKM

The two universities will also work together to implement student activities, including the MBKM program, which allows students to study off-campus and develop their skills in various fields. “Through MBKM, we hope that students will be better prepared to face global challenges with broader and more diverse experiences,” Dr. Bibit Suhatmady, M.Pd.

Seminars, Exhibitions, and Journal Management

This collaboration also includes the implementation of seminars, exhibitions, and performances involving students and lecturers from both universities. In addition, joint management of scientific journals is also part of this agreement to improve the quality of scientific publications.

Opportunities for Further Study

The Dean of the Faculty of Letters UM, represented by Dr. Azizatuz Zahro’, M.Pd, added, “We also open opportunities for students from both universities to continue their studies to the Masters and Doctoral levels. We hope to create an integrated study program with this collaboration and provide a better academic experience.”

With this collaboration, it is hoped that both universities can benefit each other in academic development, research, and community service and enrich experiences with more expansive opportunities.
