On September 9-12, 2024, EDGT (Education Development Global Tournament) will hold a poetry reading competition that aims to promote and celebrate the power of education through the arts, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on quality education. The event is designed to provide a space for participants to express their creativity and raise important issues related to education through the medium of poetry.
This poetry reading competition will bring together participants from various backgrounds to showcase their talent in crafting evocative and motivating words. The poems recited will cover themes related to education, such as the importance of access to education for all, the quality of education, and the impact of education in shaping the future of individuals and society.
Over the four days of the event, participants will have the opportunity to present their poems in front of judges and an audience, who will evaluate creativity, originality, and message delivery. In addition to the competition, the event will also include training sessions and discussions on how the arts, particularly poetry, can be used to inspire and support global education goals.
With this poetry reading competition, EDGT 2024 aims to raise awareness about the importance of quality education and celebrate the role of the arts in education. The event is expected to inspire participants and audiences to better appreciate the power of education in creating positive change and building a better and more inclusive future.
