SDG 5

Gender equality in education is one of the important aspects in realizing a just and sustainable society. Through the exploration of cooperation between Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) and Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur (SIKL), it is hoped that an inclusive art and design education environment can be created, where all students, regardless of gender, have equal opportunities to develop and excel. The purpose of this collaboration is not only to improve the quality of education through the development of innovative curricula but also to ensure that access to art and design education is open to all students.

Gender Equality emphasizes the importance of eliminating gender discrimination at all levels of education. In order to promote gender equality, this activity will include training and workshops designed to raise awareness of the importance of women’s roles in the fields of art and design. In addition, UM and SIKL will develop a gender-neutral curriculum, which will provide examples of prominent female artists and designers, and encourage the active participation of women in all aspects of art and design education.

By creating a learning environment that supports and empowers all students, this collaboration aims to overcome gender stereotypes and provide inspiration for future generations. This effort will help ensure that the creative and innovative potential of every student, both male and female, can develop to their full potential. Ultimately, by supporting gender equality in art and design education, we contribute to the achievement of the broader sustainable development goals.
