This activity is a community service activity carried out by lecturers from the State University of Malang consisting of Swastika Dhesti Anggriani, S.Sn., MA and M. Nurwiseso Wibisono, S.Kom., MT from the Department of Art and Design, Faculty of Letters and Ifan Deffinika, S.Si., M.Sc. From the Department of Geography, Faculty of Social Sciences. The training is carried out in stages starting on June 2, 2022 until June 27, 2022. This activity is considered important to carry out considering that Kedungbanteng Village itself has undeveloped potential, while the people themselves have great desire and resources to develop. However, there are no training facilities that can help the community develop this potential. Therefore, This service activity is carried out with the aim that the community can have the ability to reprocess the potential of their region through various types of crafts. In addition, it is hoped that the community will have the expertise to make stamped batik using simple equipment, namely a stamp made of paper. The training was held at the Kedungbanteng Village Office, Malang Regency, East Java, Indonesia.
This activity was carried out in stages, starting from initial observations to map the potential of Kedungbanteng Village and the human resources in the village. Then, the service team will discuss the need to carry out training, time, and procedures for conducting research. After everything was ready, the service team carried out training activities, ranging from providing theoretical explanations, making motifs and stamping tools from waste paper, and stamping motifs on fabrics to the coloring process until the material was ready to be used as other disposable objects. The main activity of this training is to educate the public that paper waste can be reprocessed into stamping tools for making batik, so it is hoped that it will help reduce the presence of paper waste.
