The purpose of this research collaboration is to develop teaching materials that are more effective and relevant in the context of Mandarin education, specifically focusing on HSK 4 learning. Additionally, researchers can collaborate, exchange ideas, and enrich knowledge through this collaboration. This strengthens the academic community and expands the research network. Moreover, collaboration involves the teaching and learning process. Universities can learn from each other and enrich their teaching methods.

The research aimed at developing HSK 4 teaching materials encompasses implementing effective teaching methods, using relevant materials, and evaluating student learning outcomes. Furthermore, the goal of collaborating with the Mandarin Education Program at UNESA to develop HSK 4 teaching materials is to create comprehensive learning resources that adhere to HSK 4 standards and enhance students’ proficiency in Mandarin at the designated level.

Designing research to develop innovative learning materials involves exploring the creation of new teaching resources. Therefore, the pivotal role of the Mandarin Education Program at UNESA in collaborating to develop HSK 4 learning materials aims to create comprehensive resources that meet HSK 4 standards and enhance students’ proficiency in Mandarin.

A research collaboration took place on May 7, 2024, led by Cicik from Universitas Negeri Surabaya and conducted at the vibrant campus of Universitas Negeri Malang.
