“GERSABI” As A Form Of Activity To Increase Student’s Awareness Of Environmental Cleanlines
The “GERSABI” activity is a joint movement coordinated by teachers, students, and class leaders where students are asked to work together every Saturday morning to clean their respective classes. This activity is a non-academic work program of the 2023 Teaching Assistance students. This activity is carried out by students in grades 7, 8, and 9 where teachers and Teaching Assistance students as assistants are tasked with coordinating students. Students carry out mutual cooperation to clean classrooms and class terraces. GERSABI implementation starts at 07.00 to 08.00. With this GERSABI activity, students are expected to be able to increase awareness of cleanliness in the school environment, foster love for the surrounding environment, and welcome the realization of Adiwiyata schools based on environmentally friendly.
In addition, this GERSABI activity can be felt directly by all school residents. The benefits are that a clean classroom environment will support the implementation of teaching and learning activities that are more conducive, effective and productive. It can also train cooperation and cohesiveness between students.
This GERSABI activity is carried out in several stages. First, each homeroom teacher and one Teaching Assistance student representative coordinate one class. Then students are briefed to carry out community service well and responsibly. Students are divided into cleaning the classroom and on the terrace. At the same time, assistants such as teachers and Teaching Assistance students count the students who carry out this activity properly. If there are students who do not carry out the teacher or Teaching Assistance students must reprimand and give assignments. After the class is clean, students are given a break before carrying out the teaching and learning process activities in the next hour.
