KANVAS 2024: “Sluman Slumun Slamet” Enlivened the Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang

The Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang (UM) successfully held the 2024 Carnival of Literature (KANVAS) on November 23-24. With the theme “Sluman Slumun Slamet”, this event features various activities that combine art, culture and literature.

KANVAS 2024 was organized by the Faculty of Letters Student Executive Board and took place in the UM Faculty of Letters area. For two days, this event presented art exhibitions, theater performances, poetry readings, and literary discussions which attracted visitors from students, lecturers, and the general public.

The theme “Sluman Slumun Slamet” was raised to reflect harmony and hope for blessings, which are embodied in the works of art and literature displayed. The visual arts exhibition was one of the main attractions, featuring works that combined traditional elements with a modern perspective.

In addition, local tradition-themed theater performances and collaborative poetry readings succeeded in creating a meaningful atmosphere. Various other interactive activities also provide space for visitors to participate and explore the messages conveyed through the works on display.

KANVAS 2024 is an annual event that strengthens the position of the Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang as a center for creativity and cultural preservation. This event is expected to continue to inspire the younger generation to explore the potential of art and literature while maintaining local cultural values.
