SDG 16
On October 18, 2024, the Student Association of the English Department (HMD) of Malang State University held an annual activity entitled English Art and Collaboration (EDA) at the C9 building on the local campus. This activity is dedicated to supporting the 16th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), which is to promote peace, justice, and resilient institutions.
EDA serves as a platform for students to actively contribute to building collective awareness of the importance of peace and justice in society. This activity reflects efforts to encourage inclusive dialog, strengthen collaboration among students, and increase understanding of the importance of equality in decision-making.
SDG 16 emphasizes the role of young people in creating peaceful and just societies. In this context, EDA serves as a platform that brings together elements of art and English to reinforce messages of peace and justice. EDA is also a means to exercise the critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills needed to promote these values.
Through EDA, HMD UK seeks to create lasting impact by engaging participants from diverse backgrounds to co-design solutions to social challenges. This activity is proof that arts, education, and collaboration can play an important role in supporting the sustainability of global development goals.
With the EDA taking place, State University of Malang has once again demonstrated its commitment to being part of the global effort to create a peaceful, inclusive, and equitable society.
