PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
SDG 4
The goal of designing VFX using match moving and CGI techniques in the film “Kalut” is to reinforce the message about social anxiety and raise public awareness of this issue. “Kalut,” produced by KONA Studio, is a collaborative work of seven students from Universitas Negeri Malang, aimed at fostering social awareness through visual media.
In this project, I designed visual effects and CGI employing match moving techniques, which allow digital elements to blend realistically within film scenes. This approach not only enhances the visual appeal of the film but also adds emotional depth, enabling viewers to empathize with characters facing social anxiety.
This design has a broader impact by creating space for education and understanding about mental health, in line with the emphasis on the importance of quality education. Through this film, we aim to educate the audience about the challenges faced by individuals with social anxiety and encourage support for them.
By integrating advanced technology into film production, we aspire to create not just an engaging piece of art, but also a broader dialogue about mental health. This project is expected to contribute to the growth of the creative industry and foster a more compassionate society that understands the significance of social support for individuals experiencing anxiety.
