The 2024 Indonesian Traditional Music Conservation and Innovation Workshop (Lokovasia) organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) together with the Musike SJ Foundation, aims to strengthen and preserve Indonesian traditional music in an innovative context. This event invites students of the Visual Communication Design Study Program, State University of Malang to actively participate, not only as participants, but also as movers in enlivening the event.

Through the 2024 Indonesian Traditional Music Conservation and Innovation Workshop (Lokovasia), students are expected to broaden their horizons regarding the diversity of traditional music from all over Indonesia, including from East Java, West Java, Central Java, NTT, and Bali. This activity will feature performances from participants taking place in various locations, both indoors and outdoors, which will take place at the gate of Jalan Veteran, State University of Malang on September 3, 2024.

With a focus on industry, innovation, and infrastructure, the 2024 Indonesian Traditional Music Conservation and Innovation Workshop (Lokovasia) is a platform for collaboration between various parties to create innovations in preserving traditional music. In addition, this activity also aims to increase public awareness and appreciation of Indonesia’s cultural richness, while encouraging students to play an active role in efforts to preserve and develop traditional music that is relevant to the modern context.
