The 2024 Indonesian Traditional Music Conservation and Innovation Workshop (Lokovasia) is an initiative organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) together with the Musike SJ Foundation. This activity aims to develop and preserve Indonesian traditional music through innovation and collaboration between participants from various regions.
Students of Fine Arts Education, State University of Malang are encouraged to attend the peak of the Lokovasia event as an effort to broaden their horizons in the field of music and to enliven the event. Participants from Lokovasia come from all over Indonesia, including East Java, West Java, Central Java, East Nusa Tenggara, Bali, and other regions.
The peak of the Lokovasia event will be held at UBTV on September 6-7, 2024. With a focus on gender equality, this activity seeks to increase women’s participation in the field of traditional music arts. Through Lokovasia, it is hoped that participants can share knowledge and experiences, and find innovative ways to preserve Indonesia’s traditional music heritage while promoting cultural diversity. This activity not only provides an opportunity for participants to learn, but also encourages creative dialogue between generations and between regions.
