The 2024 Indonesian Traditional Music Conservation and Innovation Workshop (Lokovasia) is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in collaboration with the Musike SJ Foundation. This event presents participants from various regions in Indonesia, including East Java, West Java, Central Java, NTT, Bali, and others, who gather to deepen their insights into the preservation and innovation of traditional music.
Students of Fine Arts Education, State University of Malang are encouraged to watch the peak of the Lokovasia event on September 6-7, 2024 on UBTV. Their presence is not only to increase their insight in the field of music, but is also expected to enliven the event, as well as provide support for efforts to preserve traditional music as part of the nation’s identity. The peak of the 2024 Lokovasia event focuses on the achievement of improving public health and welfare.
Traditional music is seen as having an important role in improving mental and emotional health, as well as encouraging the welfare of society as a whole. This activity also provides space for participants to share knowledge, ideas, and innovations that can support the growth of traditional music communities throughout Indonesia. By holding Lokovasia 2024, it is hoped that Indonesian traditional music can continue to live and develop, not only as a cultural heritage, but also as a medium that promotes health, well-being, and unity in modern society.
