Lokovasia 2024, held on September 3, 2024 at D14 Building, AVA Room, Universitas Negeri Malang, was a huge success with high enthusiasm from the participants and the presence of various inspiring works. This event is not only a creative and cultural event, but also ensures a healthy life and supports well-being for everyone of all ages. Through various works, discussions, and collaborations, Lokovasia 2024 connects art, mental health, and well-being in one series of inspiring events. Lokovasia 2024 features a variety of artworks and innovative projects inspired by the importance of mental, physical, and emotional health. In the discussion and presentation sessions, artists, innovators, and academics shared how art can be an effective tool to convey health messages to the public, while raising awareness of the importance of maintaining a balanced life.

Some of the works on display highlight the connection between visual art and mental health, such as an interactive art installation that invites visitors to reflect on their emotions through color and shape. There are also works that directly address global health issues, such as an educational poster about the importance of maintaining mental health amid the pressures of modern life.

One of the most interesting parts of Lokovasia 2024 is the workshop session that focuses on art therapy as a way to support mental health. Art therapy has been widely recognized as an effective method in helping individuals express their feelings, reduce stress, and overcome trauma. In this workshop, participants are invited to use art as a means of personal reflection, allowing them to better understand their emotions and gain inner peace.

The art therapists in attendance provided training to participants on how to create artwork that helps them release negative emotions, manage anxiety, and find calm through the creative process. This is a clear demonstration that art can serve as a powerful healing tool, which supports SDG 3 to ensure mental health and well-being for all.

Lokovasia 2024 also underlines the importance of intergenerational collaboration in creating works that support community well-being. Mentors and senior artists work together with the younger generation to develop projects that emphasize the importance of health in everyday life. One of the featured projects is the creation of a large mural depicting the journey of life and health from childhood to old age, designed to educate about the importance of maintaining health from an early age. This collaboration shows that well-being is a cross-generational issue that must be understood and supported by all age groups. By working together, the participants produce works that are not only artistic but also full of important messages about healthy lifestyles, work-life balance, and the importance of maintaining mental health.

Lokovasia 2024 also showcased technological innovations designed to improve health and wellbeing. Some of the projects on display included a digital mental health app, which helps users track their emotional state, receive guided meditations, and access resources on healthcare. There was also wearable technology designed to monitor physical health, such as heart rate, sleep patterns, and daily activity levels, which was presented as part of the innovative health technology showcase.

Through the integration of technology and health, Lokovasia 2024 demonstrated that innovation not only makes our lives easier, but can also play a significant role in supporting public health. Technology is a powerful tool for promoting healthy living, and the event successfully highlighted the importance of access to health information that can help individuals maintain their daily well-being.

Universitas Negeri Malang, through its various programs, strives to support the mental health and well-being of students and the wider community. Events such as Lokovasia are also part of the campus’ strategy to create a healthy environment and support the holistic growth of students, both academically and emotionally.

Lokovasia 2024 concluded with a collaborative art performance combining music, dance, and visuals, where all elements of art played a role in conveying important messages about health and wellness. The event not only left a lasting impression on the participants, but also inspired them to care more about their own health and the community around them. The huge success of Lokovasia 2024 shows that art, technology, and collaboration can be a force for positive change in society. This event proves that through creativity, innovation, and attention to health, we can create a more prosperous and sustainable world for all.
