The International Conference on Arts, Design, Education, and Cultural Studies (ICADECS) 2024, hosted by Universitas Negeri Malang, will focus on the role of creative industries in fostering economic development. Ari Dharminalan Rudenko, Ph.D. (Cand), will deliver a keynote presentation on the intersection of arts, design, and sustainable economic growth, aligning with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
In his talk, Rudenko will explore how arts and design can create new opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship. He will highlight the growing importance of the creative economy in driving innovation and inclusive economic growth. By integrating arts and design into business practices, Rudenko argues that communities can develop sustainable livelihoods, especially in sectors like fashion, architecture, and digital media.
Rudenko will share case studies that demonstrate how arts and design initiatives have empowered individuals to start small businesses, while also promoting fair labor practices and ethical production. He will emphasize the importance of creative education in preparing students for the evolving job market, equipping them with the skills needed for success in the global economy.
Aligned with ICADECS 2024’s theme, “Reimagining Education through Arts and Design for Sustainable Futures,” Rudenko’s presentation will underline how creative industries can contribute to decent work opportunities and economic resilience. Participants will engage in workshops and discussions on how to use arts and design to foster sustainable economic growth, ensuring that work environments remain inclusive, productive, and future-oriented, all while advancing SDG 8 goals.
