International partnerships play a role that emphasizes the importance of global cooperation to achieve development targets. One concrete example of this cross-border partnership is the collaboration between Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) and educational institutions in Malaysia through origami and kirigami training held on August 14, 2024 at Kolej Komuniti Selayang, Selangor, Malaysia.
This training, led by Yon Ade Lose Hermanto, S.Sn, M.Sn from the Department of Art and Design UM, aims to improve the skills of Indonesian students in Malaysia in creating innovative learning media. Origami and kirigami, as traditional paper folding art forms, offer creative methods to convey information and teach new concepts visually and interactively. By integrating these techniques into the educational process, students can develop new ways to visualize and understand the subject matter.
This partnership is not only to strengthen the capacity of students in creating effective learning media, but also to build bridges between cultures and education in both countries. This kind of collaboration reflects how international cooperation can facilitate the exchange of knowledge, improve skills, and strengthen the quality of education. Through initiatives such as this training, we can see how it works in practice, connecting educational institutions and communities across borders to achieve better and more inclusive goals.
