The increasing number of Covid-19 cases has made the government issue various new policies such as issuing various health rules and protocols/guidelines, establishing large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in various regions, carrying out Covid-19 tests in various places, to establishing a new normal order. New normal is a term used to imply that something unusual or has never been done before has become commonplace. Due to the formation of a new order, we as students must adapt to the new order. Certainly, in all aspects, especially literature, art and especially in education. This is where the challenges as a student emerge. How to be creative and innovative in the era of this new order or new normal. Therefore, the Indonesian Literature Department Student Association held an activity called the “Indonesian Youth Creativity Event”.

This student creativity event will be held online from 2 to 12 May 2021. Gradually starting from registration which will be held from the second to the ninth of May 2021, the collection and assessment of the jury on May 10 to 11, 2021 and the last one is the announcement session of the winner of the competition, which is on May 12, 2021. This event is carried out solely to be a solution Alternatives for Indonesian students to work and develop innovations during this pandemic are also expected to educate the general public, especially students, to use technology and social media productively and creatively.

This competition event consists of photography, poster design, and videography competitions. The theme was “New Normal: Realizing Creativity and Innovation in a New Lifestyle“. It is hoped that this activity can be a bridge in developing the hobbies and talents of students as well as a forum for distributing works, especially in terms of photography, poster design, and videography.

The competition, which was attended by 50 participants from all over Indonesia, resulted in the best 3 winners from each subject, which of course had been judged by three professional judges in their field. There are two advantages obtained, internal and external benefits. Internal benefits in the form of experience as well as soft skills and hard skills obtained by the Indonesian Literature Department Student Association in organizing, making photography, poster design and videography. Likewise with external benefits, the Indonesian Literature Department Student Association invites all Indonesian students to participate in the Indonesian Youth Creativity Event in expressing creative and innovative ideas during the pandemic which is not a barrier to work.
