Learning and Students

SDG 17

Malang State University is sending 19 of its students for a student exchange program to China in 2024. Several Mandarin Language Education program students have been accepted for a student exchange at Guangxi Normal University in Guilin, China. The students from Malang State University arrived in China on September 6, 2024, and were warmly welcomed by the Guangxi Normal University staff.

The student exchange program in China is a gateway to unparalleled academic and cultural enrichment. It offers students the chance to immerse themselves in a country with a rich history and a rapidly evolving economy. This unique experience not only exposes them to a different educational system but also allows them to engage with diverse cultures and languages. The program challenges students in an academic environment at prestigious universities like Guangxi Normal University, while also providing a glimpse into the vibrant daily life of China. This exchange broadens their educational horizons and fosters a global network, preparing them for international careers and enhancing vital cross-cultural understanding in our increasingly interconnected world.

Future hopes

As we look to the future, our aspirations for the student exchange program in China are ambitious. We aim to build stronger bridges between diverse cultures and educational systems, enriching the learning experience and broadening students’ global perspectives. In an era of increasing globalization, a deep understanding of China’s significant economic and cultural influence will be a valuable asset in the careers and personal lives of our students. We hope that this program will not only equip students with high-quality academic knowledge but also foster interpersonal and cross-cultural skills that will facilitate their adaptation and collaboration at the international level. Furthermore, we believe that closer collaboration between universities and institutions in China can unlock more opportunities for joint research and innovation, driving progress in various fields and strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between countries.
