At the PORSENI POLITEKNIK bronze. This competition was attended by 12 contingents from various Polytechnics throughout Indonesia.

The professional observers consisted of Dr. Tri Wahyuningtyas, M.SI., Dr. Robby Hidajat, M.Sn., and Hartono, S.Sn., M.Sn., were trusted to monitor every aspect of the participants’ appearance. The competition starts at 19.15 and ends at 22.15, showcasing various creative dance techniques from the participants. Although the majority of participants brought techniques from their own regional ethnic dances, some also adopted elements from other ethnic groups.

This diversity of techniques sparked an emotional response among the supporters, some of whom did not pay much attention to the choreographic aspect, which became a hot topic of conversation among the audience. Nevertheless, the jury sportively and professionally provided a thorough evaluation at the end of the performance, emphasizing the participants’ ability to interpret the stage space both from an internal (dancer’s body) and external perspective.

According to the jury, the aspects assessed including artistic processing are (a) movement, (b) music, (c) energy, (d) time, and (e) overall use of space which is processed creatively to be harmonious. The coordinator or choreographer from each contingent received an open explanation from the jury, bearing in mind that their background was dance graduates, who really understood the artistic competition aspects of choreography. At the end of the evaluation, it was also emphasized that this creative dance competition was not solely about physical skill proficiency, but rather artistic processing that was innovative and original.
